Hidden Gem with Heart, Heat, and Haddock If you're after silver service and polished marble, move along. But if you're hungry, human, and in need of a proper sit-down and a damn good feed—The Scoff Troff Cafe is where it's at. We dropped in for what was meant to be a quick bite, but what unfolded was a little pocket of calm in a chaotic world. Two teas arrived first—hot, strong, no nonsense. The kind that makes you exhale and think, Right. We’re okay now. Then came the full English: a proper one. None of this ‘artful smear of beans’ business. This was the real deal—crispy bacon, eggs done just right, sausages that actually had flavour (imagine!), and toast you don’t have to squint to find. Comfort on a plate. But the star of the show? The haddock chowder. Creamy, rich, and subtly smoky, it arrived like a warm hug in a bowl. Silky potatoes, tender fish, and just enough seasoning to make you sit up and go Ooh, hello. Unexpectedly sublime. One of those dishes that makes you consider ordering another to take home for later. The place itself? Humble. Nothing flashy. But it’s cared for. Clean, cosy, and refreshingly free of pretense. You get the feeling the people here actually like feeding other people, which is rarer than it should be. Prices? Surprisingly modest for the quality. You walk out full, satisfied, and not even slightly resentful when the bill arrives. In this day and age, that alone is enough to earn a return visit

Tasty! Popped in for breakfast here - and what a busy place it is. Very funky decorations, with the staff all very busy. Orders were taken swiftly, drinks and food arrived in a quick time. I had the posh eggs - which was really good. Everyone else was happy with their choices. Come here for something, you won't be disappointed!

A visit to Scoffs has been my brother's tradition for about the last ten years. This latest visit was just me, my daughter and her boyfriend and we could not miss it. Their brunch is just so tasty. I had a vegan sausage sandwich - excellent, daughter had the English breakfast and the boyfriend went rogue and had a waffle stack. He devoured it. We all left very pleased with our choices and went for a walk around the lovely beaches to work it off. Scoffs is often quite busy, but the service is always so friendly and matches the quality of the food. And the kids, actually young adults, also enjoyed the colourful crockery. Each to their own!

Had Local Crab Sandwich and Crab Rarebit. Both taste good, but I love the Crab Rarebit the most. Make sure to try that one!

We very much enjoyed the scoff breakfast, which was the smaller breakfast, but with good portion sizes. It was very well presented and was delicious. Sadly, we didn't take any pictures as we were too eager to tuck in! The choices on the menu are good, and the prices are pretty fair. The staff were very polite and attentive. We certainly would go back when we're next down that way.

We read the reviews here on Google and decided to check out this cafe. Glad we did! The highlight was the doggy menu and took the longest to read and decide on (for our dog). Loved that his dish came in a special dish :) Our sandwiches were lovely and delicious too :) We were quite full after them so shared a piece of the orange chocolate cake which was very good. Service was wonderful so all in all a great experience.

Our second visit this week. And even better than the first. The service was superb again, it’s a nice place, brilliant location. She had Avo and Eggs again - loved it. I had Welsh Rarebit. Wow. It was simply amazing. The best Welsh Rarebit I have ever had. The little fella had some toast. Brilliant cafe. On our previous visit I had a Croque Madam, and it was delicious.

The service is fantastic! The staff are so friendly and a pleasure to be around. But the food... I don't think I've ever eaten something so perfectly cooked! It was perfect in every way possible! - Chunky chips were crispy and fluffy, bacon and sausages were succulent and juicy. I cannot rate this place high enough! /10. Absolutely divine!
